William Harrison Gadd was born 17 Feb 1855, West Virginia, son of Andrew Powhatan Gadd and his wife Delilah Ferguson, and died 10 Oct 1926, W.Va. (Source: Randall Reno). The log home was at Dewey, W.Va., south of Flat Top, north of Camp Creek and to the west of Dunns. In the 1968 photo are, left to right, cousins “Brian” Kirk Mooney, Edward “Mark” Mooney, Fredrick Michael “Mike” Reno, Leona and Rebecca Jane “Becky” Reno Black. (Thanks to Carla for locating this site.) Lourinda was a daughter of Gabriel Wood and wife Louella Akers. The Woods and Gadds were neighbors. Gabriel was a grandson of Richard "Dickey" Wood. William's second wife Clara was a daughter of Nathaniel B. and Sarah Jane Crews Akers. She was a widow. At age 25, Clara had married first husband Robert L. William had two daughters and seven sons with first wife Lourinda, a daughter with second wife Clara, and a stepson and stepdaughter.

Eliza Ann Gadd Farley. Eliza Ann Gadd, daughter of William Harrison Gadd, married John Quincy Farley and her aunt Eliza Jane Gadd (daughter of Andrew P. Gadd, see Gadd Page 1) married Lum Farley. An aunt and niece married two brothers. Gilbert Sparks Gadd (1880-1949).  Gilbert Gadd's Mercer County birth record  He married Saphronia Godfrey (1888-1966). Frona Gadd - 1966 obit and her sister Brooke Godfrey Bishop's obit. The birth records for Mrs. Gadd have different birthdays: Sophronia May - 14 May 1888 and Sofronia - 14 Aug 1888 Her obituary has her name as Frona Ann and her birthdate 14 May 1888. Her 28 March 1966 obit obituary says she died the previous day, 27 March. William Gabriel Gadd.   William Gabriel died on 19 Jun 1898 at age 16, cause of death unknown.  1882 birth record  Death record.

Joseph Hayden Gadd. Joseph was the author of the Gadd Genealogy. (obitdeath certificatetombstone) He was "educated in the public schools, Athens State Normal and West Virginia University. He taught school a few years, served two terms as County Superintendent of Schools, two terms as Assistant Prosecuting Attorney and was Federal Prohibition Director for the State of West Virginia from 1923 to 1927. He was admitted to the bar in 1908, and has been actively engaged in the practice of law at Princeton, West Virginia, except for the four years he was in government service." Children of Clara and William Harrison Gadd:
Zanza "Zanzie" Adeline Gadd, born about 1904 at Camp Creek, W.Va., died in Beckley, Raleigh County, W.Va. (Source: obituary.) She married Frank Robert Eads. Mr. Eads was born 24 May 1900 at Dunns, Mercer County, W.Va., a son of J.B. Eads and wife Laura L. Lilly. He died 17 Feb 1937 in Beckley Hospital at age 36 of a perforated peptic ulcer and the resulting peritonitis. He was a coal miner. (Source: death certificate.Eads grave marker.
