William Harrison Gadd was born 17 Feb 1855, West Virginia, son of Andrew Powhatan Gadd and his wife Delilah Ferguson, and died 10 Oct 1926, W.Va. (Source: Randall Reno). His birth record says 1855, tombstone says 1856.  WV Project birth record. Death certificate. (Mother Delilah Ferguson's maiden name is wrong.) William married Lourinda E. In the 1968 photo are, left to right, cousins “Brian” Kirk Mooney, Edward “Mark” Mooney, Fredrick Michael “Mike” Reno, Leona and Rebecca Jane “Becky” Reno Black. Lourinda was a daughter of
Gabriel Wood and wife Louella Akers. The Woods and Gadds were neighbors. Gabriel was a grandson of Richard "Dickey" Wood. William's second wife Clara was a daughter of
Nathaniel B. and Sarah Jane Crews Akers. Her first husband was Robert L. Mooney.  Mrs. Gadd, who lived to be 101, was the subject of a Raleigh Register article in 1961. William had two stepchildren, Clara Catherine's children from her first marriage,
C.T. Mooney and Anna Lee Mooney; a daughter with second wife Clara Catherine, Zanza "Zanzie" Adeline Gadd, who married Frank Eads; and a two daughters and seven sons with first wife Lourinda Wood:

Risa Lee Gadd: According to a Gadd researcher, a baby girl who died. There is a Mercer Co., W.Va., birth record for Rosey Lee Gadd, born 13 Feb 1878.

Eliza Ann Gadd Farley: Eliza Ann Gadd, daughter of William Harrison Gadd, married John Quincy Farley and her aunt Eliza Jane Gadd (daughter of Andrew P. Gadd, see Gadd Page 1) married Lum Farley. William Gabriel Gadd: According to a Gadd researcher, William died as a teenager.   (1882 birth record)

Joseph Hayden Gadd: Joseph was the author of the Gadd Genealogy. (obit, death certificate, tombstone) He was "educated in the public schools, Athens State Normal and West Virginia University. He taught school a few years, served two terms as County Superintendent of Schools, two terms as Assistant Prosecuting Attorney and was Federal Prohibition Director for the State of West Virginia from 1923 to 1927. He was admitted to the bar in 1908, and has been actively engaged in the practice of law at Princeton, West Virginia, except for the four years he was in government service."
